LEVITATION (1980)
King's gone for good this time, replaced by Ginger Baker (who must've been suffering some sort of delusional spell or another). It's always delightful to hear Ginger, and he doesn't disappoint here, but the material on this album is catchy, though lacking long legs in most cases
Production is better than any album to date, bar QUARK -- but coupled with the hummable but not-so-creative songs this make the overall feel like listening to a very good Boston or Styx album, if you can imagine such things.
Lots of polish, heart in the right place, BLANGA being courted (if not landed), and a couple of choruses that'll stick in your head long after you wish they were gone.
BLANGA SCORE: 5.
