SPACEBROCK (2000)

Things appeared to be falling apart for Brock again after Tree, Richards and the revolving cast of supporting characters that produced the gormless In Your Area all seemed to fall off the creative table, as did Douglas Smith's Emergency Broadcasting Service record label.

So the good Captain went back to the woodshed. Like Church of Hawkwind, Spacebrock is essentially a Brock solo album, with lots of samples and loops and the like, and a couple of contributions from the ever-loyal Chadwick and Crum. (Spacebrock's strongest song, "Some People Never Die," is actually a retread from that earlier experimental/solo album).

I pondered whether to include this here, given its solo nature, and concluded that since it does say "Hawkwind" on the front cover (which is shockingly politically incorrect for the first year of the new millennium), and it does represent new studio material, it does merit mention on the BLANGA guide

But not that much mention: it's pleasantly forgettable, with not a lot of crunch. You need a band to deliver the BLANGA, Mr. Brock, sir. Please consider re-forming one.
