Reading this back now 13 years after the trip and the world already seems a different place, not to mention the layout of web pages.. but I thought I'd leave it up, as much for myself and my fading memory as anything, lets go back to the year 1995, and the younger enthusiastic me:
Postcards.. ..don`t you just hate `em? I do, it`s not the postcard itself, it`s the writing and posting of the things I hate.. even if you travel with pre-prepared address labels they`re still a pain.. ..who the hell knows how much postage to put on and what the hell -does- a letterbox look like in a strange country?? So this year we decided that technology would come to the rescue, we would post a daily travelog to a forum we hang out in on Compuserve (Rocknet) and then all our friends could follow our progress and offer advise where applicable.. ..what about Aunty Gladys? I hear you ask? she`s not online.. what about her postcard?? ..who cares. Who are the "we" I keep mentioning? I`m Steve, she`s my ex girlfriend Tamsin, we split everything 50/50 except journal writing, Tamsin deemed sleep more important.. ahem.. The pages that follow are an expanded version of those travelogs with photos added where possible. Here we go then...
