Before we get to the list of records it`s very important to remember 2 things when shopping for Glam Rock.
1. Glam Rock bands made *lousy* albums. ..I can`t stress this enough.. really bad albums.. really really bad, no merit whatsoever.
and
2. Glam Rock can be bought cheap thanks to the terrible, evil, mean treatment that most of them received from their managers. You can usually spot who had a good manager by the number of dodgy compilations out there & how much they cost, i.e Slade obviously had great management, There's one definitive compilation out there & it's full price. God bless Chas Chandler (RIP). Mud on the other hand.. oooh dear.. I`ve taken the pain out of shopping for Glam for you, the following albums contain all the hits from the artists in question and are at the keenest prices, shop with confidence.. :)

The Sweets Greatest Hits
Not the cheapest Sweet compilation, but it`s ALL here.. Magnificent.

Slades Greatest Hits
Another complete compilation, unfortunately it also includes Slades bad 80's Heavy Metal Hits, but don't let that put you off. This album puts Oasis firmly in their place.

T-Rexs' Greatest Hits
A Double CD at a good price, it`s hard to find the full T-Rex canon without getting a box set, but this one does the job. |

Suzi Quatros Greatest Hits Suzi had more hits that you think.. and they're all on here for eight quid. You can`t do better than that. :) |

Mott The Hooples Greatest Hits Now this one is special, all the hits yes, but the album tracks that fill the disk up are selected by a genius, this is the best intro to Mott you could ever ask for, fantastic. |

Roxy Musics Greatest Hits This is the Roxy album to get, lots of their compilations don`t have "Virginia Plain.. go figure. |

Sparks Greatest Hits Worth it for the sleeve notes alone.. all the hits from thge Island years are here, there is a much more expensive compilation called "Profile" but this one is a better overall album. |

Muds Greatest Hits All the hits are on this one.. and at a nice price.. but you don`t have to listen to "Lonely This Christmas (we have rights as human beings..) |

Gary Glitters Greatest Hits Everything he ever did except the prison sentence |

Rubettes The Singles Collection Worth if for Sugar Baby Love alone, Epic. |

David Bowie - ChangesBowie This is as good a starting place as any, but I`d buy all his "proper" albums in order.. (Stopping after Station to Station) Bowie is the exception that proves the "Glam Acts made bad albums" rule, his first 7 albums are unmatchable. |
