Hello, thanks for popping in, Alternet is a mailing list set up for people who've found their old online haunts either aren't what they used to be (Compuserve, Rocknet) or have been bought up by the evil empire that is Microsoft and erased for the greater good (Firefly) or have been covered in adverts that can be removed but only if you pay money for the privilege (eGroups).

If you like to chat about Music, movies, travel, pop culture, personal mores or just enjoy writing about what happened in your life today feel free to subscribe, there are no moderators on Alternet so you`re on your honour to behave, we pride ourselves on never having flame wars whilst being free to say anything, so if you join don`t let yourself down.

Expect between 5 and 50 emails a day depending on how active everyone is being, currently there are about 25 members of Alternet so if it sounds like something you would enjoy sign up, say hi and make some new friends..
